The child's grip fell away
From the old and frozen hand,
Leaving life behind.

Your gaze falls on me
When I look back, you are gone
We'll never be friends.

Tonight the stars die
The fireworks they make are bright
I won't look away.

Two roads loom ahead
One leads to you, the other away
The choice is easy.

*

I am just like you
Our blessings and curses are one
So just deal with it.

*

Take it all away
The tears and cries are hollow
Are you human too?

*

He enters the room,
Drops his backpack on the floor,
And, alone, starts to cry

*

Look away from it
Stay far away from the light
It can't be over...
