Mandė's Tattoo

Located on her left ankle
Mandė decided she wanted to get a Hanson tattoo because she had been a fan for so many years and devoted so much of her life to Hanson. One weekend in July of 2002, we planned to go shopping in Joplin, Missouri and she decided she was going to get a Hanson tattoo while we were there. She ended up scanning the Hanson symbol from her Live at the Fillmore DVD I'd bought her, printed it out, and wanted to bring in that graphic to the tattoo studio. We openned the phone book and looked in the yellow pages for tattoo studios in Joplin (we lived in Miami, Oklahoma, only about 20 minutes from Joplin, MO) and found the Eyewitness Tattoo Studio on Rangeline, the same road the mall was on. Once we got there, Mandė was really nervous about how much it would hurt, how it was going to turn out, and was having second thoughts amidst the fear. To calm her down and ease her fears, I decided to get another tattoo as well. I got one on the same area and had it done before hers so she could see my reactions and not back out. After she signed the papers and gave the artist her design, he wanted to make sure she went through with it as well, so he told a little "white lie". He told her that since she signed the papers, she was still going to have to pay him the $80.00 whether she got the tattoo or not. After my tattoo, she finally sat down in that chair, told the artist what color she wanted (blue, because Zac is her favorite Hanson), and had me hold her hand. After all the whining, all the moans, and all the cries, it was finally over. I think it looks great. Bravo to the tattoo artist!
