the day that i left lucy, oh

a tear fell from her eye (ooohhwaaahhh her eye)

now i don't have nobody

and i was such a fool

on the day (the day, the day) that i left lucy (the day the day) oh

the day that i left lucy, oh (oooooohhh)

she cried then said goodbye (awwwww goodbye)

now it's done and it's over

and i am all alone

on the day (the day, the day)

that i left lucy (the day, the day)

now i don't have anymore songs to sing

'cause you're everything, everything to me (me)

well i didn't realize that i felt this way

until the day

today i'm missing lucy, oh

and you say (oooh oooh oooh) that she's okay...i hope she is

now i don't have nobody

and no one will ever replace

my lucy (the day, the day)

oh, i love lucy (the day, the day)

lucy (the day, the day)

oh no one the day (the day, the day)

that i left lucy

my lucy

this is a very mellow song, with zac singing the lead, a guitar, and a harmonica in the background. the song was written about schhroder, a peanuts character, after losing the heart of lucy. it sounds very beatlesque, kind of "here, there, and everywhere"-ish.
