The Documentary

The documentary is called 'Strong Enough to Break' and is an ongonig project of Ashley Greyson's since work on 'Underneath' began. It was shortlisted in the Sundance Film Festival a couple of years ago, but was never screened because it wasn't finished.
Five clips can be found in the member's sections of Hanson Net and a three minute trailer is included on the Acoustic Tour DVD ("It started as the making of an album...").
As far as we know, the documentary is about the making of 'Underneath', including the fall out with Island Def Jam.

Here is Ashley Greyson talking about the documentary in a chat:
AshG> dunno when the doc will be out....but SOON!!! buahhhahahahaa
AshG> then it keeps getting pushed back by the label
AshG> by the end of the year
AshG> maybe a sneak preview or soemthing
AshG> it is not a light thing like ttmon
AshG> very serious
AshG> art versus commerce
AshG> good versus evil
AshG> spiderman versus the green goblin
AshG> no for real it is intense and very serious
AshG> if you are expecting a happy making of you will be very shocked
AshG> you may cry, i dunno, one of the guys has a bit of a breakdown
AshG> after all the months and months of being told his songs are not good he loses all confidence
AshG> thinks he cant sing and all the music is terrible
AshG> it is very real and very heartfelt
AshG> you will see
AshG> no nudity but it is not for kids
AshG> I dunno what rating it will get
AshG> you have to send it to a board of people
AshG> I dont want to get into in a chat because you guys will post the transcript everywhere!
AshG> but....nothing will be edited out...
AshG> it is just intense in parts
AshG> there is nothing that is gratuitous
AshG> taken in context, it is all very fine and real
AshG> taken out of context means... I cant put up a small clip of something "juicy" as it needs the film as its context
AshG> but, I am the film maker, hanson is my subject, I present only the facts from my fly on the wall perspective
AshG> there has never been such an intimate view inside the studio and the "process" from an artists perspective
AshG> i have releases from most the island people
AshG> i have every meeting and every reaction on tape
AshG> over 200 hours
AshG> i have over 24 hours in the editing computer
AshG> going for 90 minutes max
AshG> dvd will have more stuff
AshG> you guys have never seen Hanson like this...or any band for that matter
AshG> i have captured the actual moments of creative inspiration, the studio banter, arguments and dealings with the label
AshG> never been done
AshG> now I just have to edit it to make it watchable!!
AshG> i poured 3 years of my life in it!!!
AshG> my reward it getting it seen
AshG> F bombs?
AshG> i can promise, no matter how conservative you are, there are parts of the film that will have YOU dropping f-bombs
AshG> the crescendo of the film is an emotional gut-shot from the label
AshG> i get sick every time I see it
AshG> it is not dirty or anything... just mature
AshG> and you are mature enough to handle it
AshG> an emotional punch to the gut.....
AshG> the ONLY reason this record was not out in september of 2001 is incompentence, fear and bullying from IDJ
AshG> those conspiracy theory people make me laugh.... and puke
AshG> listen to the words for Strong Enough to Break
AshG> that was inspired by a crucial event I caught on film
AshG> SETB "I dont feel myself today...just a figure in a big monopoly game..."
AshG> "...carry on, just a pawn in the same old song..."
