What is Your Favourite Hanson Era?

salamanda:
What is your favorite Hanson "era"? MoN, Albertane, TTA, Underneath Acoustic, or Underneath?

My favorite era would definitely be Albertane because it was just so darn much fun!! It was okay to be a teenie and cheer them on. I loved the summer of '98; it was such a great time. The band seemed to be at their height and the fans were en-masse. I think the key to Albertane was fun. Everything about it was just fun. (Can I say 'fun' one more time? Haha...it was fun) You were constantly checking the website to see how the concerts were going and reading other people's tour reviews. It was all so new and fun and pure, I think. Do you know what I mean? It felt like we were all, fans and band, experiencing this crazy phenomenon together. Am I crazy? I'm probably crazy. Do you remember when you first found out that the band was touring? I remember frantically dialing ticketmaster to get tickets to Great Woods, desperately hoping for shed seats and not the lawn (aka Siberia), wishing that I could get front row and meet the band. I mean, getting a m&g back then was *sacred* because so few people had met them at that point. Ah, memories.

So...what is your favorite "era"?

alenacal:
I completely agree! for me it would be Albertane because that's when I was in the thick of fandom. They were touring all over the country, on different talk shows every night, they had SI and 3CG and LFA all coming out... MOE had started... they were really at a peak for creative output. Plus, it was just FUN!

zestycat:
i don't think i can chose! you have to admit, underneath & albertane were SO different, they're just incomparable. they seem like two completely different bands! so i like them both equally...

but lemme tell you... albertane? those were the DAYS. and i definitely remember the exact moment i found out they were coming to Houston!!!

i was walking out of my friend's room, and we had the TV on! all i heard was a crowd screaming and a man's voice saying "Get ready, Hanson fans! HANSON is coming to Cynthia Mitchell Woods Pavillion!"

I remember screaming my HEAD off! mmm <333 memories

unikorn:
The UA era is my fave. Thatz where the band is being most honest to itself and to the fans. Not that they never or are not honest to themselves now but the UA era bare that honesty to the fans the most.

fangirl:
i love the now, i really do, what with all that independence, plus we're all a little older and a little wiser, but nothing beats the rush of being a teeny with no shame. 'mon' was so much fun. i was twelve, in primary school, and i wasn't different, i was a trendsetter, man!! 'mmmbop' was my sountrack, it was everyone's soundtrack, we all wanted this sunshine together.

aimless conversations 'bout the better days, eh?

stinso81:
Right now is the best! I was 15 when MON came out (turning 16 actually) so the whole "teenie-thing" wasn't really for me... I feel closer to them now than ever before!

freshspringroll:
underneath acoustic. hanson at their most raw, their most independent... and their best. ;)

blondie78:
now, right now! Its been the best year of my life.

uzma:
the feel of TTA gives me warmth, i dont know, listening to songs from that era makes me feel comforted. however UA does the same thing too, and Underneath... liberated!

krzy474:
underneath. i've had the BEST summer of my life because of them!!! it's been amazinggggggg!!!!

faerieclaire:
aimless conversations 'bout the better days, eh?

indeed.

tta is my favorite because all the songs have some sort of an emotional attachment to them for me, particularly "a song to sing." i love everything that's going on now...but i love the darker feel tta had to it.

leftofcenter:
Definitely Underneath, but that's probably because I can drive now and I have my own car plus money to go to shows. Plus, it's like we're all in on this secret and whenever we attend a concert, it's this perfect, magical place where everything makes sense. Plus, it's just great to see them live for the music. Nt caught in that teenybpper stuff anymore.

zeus22:
The "Underneath" era because it was so long in the making.

fangirl:
just adding to what claire said, 'tta' is my least favourite because, i mean, for all of us, not just hanson, it felt like we were out to prove something, out to prove that we and hanson were "cool". it can't be denied that street-cred was the name of the game, with hanson writing those consciously rock songs, and us trying to convince the rest of the world that we were right. i feel now, with 'underneath', that we're letting the music do the talking, and it's causing everyone else to talk. not as much pressure to be anything, which has caused some pure sunshine.

AFHdicey:
I have two favorite eras - they're tied. MON and TTA. MON because I was in my Hanson fan prime back then (hahaha) and I was just such a teenie and so carefree. It was fun. And then TTA because that was when I finally had friends who were Hanson fans, and that made my concert going experience so much better.

littlenicola:
Right now is the best...especially when I think of what these guys are capable of in the future!

dewies:
The Albertane era. I have so many Hanson memories from 1998. The love was in abundance back then!

CaptainAmerica:
Post-Albertane (I'm assuming by that you mean 98-ish), but pre-TTA release. The "leaked demos," whether accidentally leaked or not, did a great job of building anticipation for the TTA album, which although took a while to come out, didn't take FOREVER like the most recent album. It was a good time to be a fan because Hanson was "old news" to the general public but the hardcore fans saw potential for a strong follow-up.

That's also the point where I became a fan, as I couldn't stand them during the "mega-popular" era.

It was a perfect blend of timing, promotion (intentional or not), and payoff.

MadLuck1122:
Each era was special in its own way, so it's so hard to choose one!!! I LOVE the era we're in now, because I just love the new music. It's so real and fun and just amazing. There was so much anticipation for the latest album and tour that it just made it that much better when they finally came around again, and I have been loving every minute of it! TTA was great because it was so good to hear something new after MON, and it was so different from what MON was, so it was an awesome era as well. And of course, NOTHING can beat the good old MON days!!! Those were just amazing and so exciting everyday! They were on TV and the radio all the time, and there was always something new and exciting happening with them. It was a much more fun and carefree time. Nothing can compare to that time, when it was all brand new and I entered Hanson Fandom for the first time!
