The Acoustic Tour DVD
About
This was filmed at the Chicago House of Blues on the 11th of November, 2003, after the final tour date at Carnegie Hall in New York, due to demand from fans for a DVD (that makes us sound so bossy).
Release Date
The DVD will be released on July 27th and will be availible at The Hanson Net Store, Amazon (who are taking pre-orders), on the tour, and selected retailers across America. Hanson do prefer you buy from the H.Net Store.
From the H.Net Gang
"We are authoring the DVD TODAY and it should be manufactured by the end of July. We will have a pre-sale on Hanson.net and the DVD will be sold at shows. It will also be in select stores in the US and will later go out all over the world. The DVD consists of 21 songs including several that have not been on anything else [INHD, pay-per-view and the theatre screening] AND bonus material that has a 15 minute interview with the guys about the tour and footage from backstage at the show. Of particular interest to many of you, another extra is a 3:30 trailer for the documentary.
"It is a DVD9 with 5.1 surround which is more expensive, we are trying to keep it under $20... My guess right now would be US$19.99."

-The Walk (AKA "Tightrope") (Zac's solo)
-Teach Your Children
-When You're Gone
-With You in Your Dreams
-Underneath
-I Will Come to You
-Ain't No Sunshine

-Lost Without Each Other
Retakes
-'Rock 'n' Roll Razorblade' was shot again because Isaac broke a string (you are my rock idol, Ike!).
-'Penny and Me' was shot again due more guitar problems... seems that Zac saved the day by plugging them in!
-'Love Somebody to Know' probably won't be on the DVD because there was two minute tape change, and Taylor filled it with that song, so it probably wasn't filmed.
Outtakes
-Taylor cursing the idea of mucking up 'If Only' -- "Aw, damn that shit!" (Thank you Mary!)
-Isaac being evil while introducing 'Hand in Hand' -- "This is about a girl who wronged me." "Awww." "But I GOT HER BACK!"
-Isaac mucked up 'MMMBop', it took three shots to get it started. During this, Zac started singing 'Happy Birthday', to which the whole crowd joined in on. Seems he also tried to get a version of 'The Star Spangled Banner' happening, whether it was in honour of Veteran's Day, who knows?
-This quote swiped from Nick (KaneRobot/CaptainAmerica) that just causes me to die laughing: "After the first aborted attempt, Ike suddenly hits a fuzz or distortion pedal and plays it, Zac starts screaming the Penny & Me lyrics like a metal singer and Ike rips out this Kerry King-esque speed metal solo ON THE ACOUSTIC GUITAR. It only lasted about 10 seconds, but it was amusing. If you think "Dirrty" was funny, this would have made you wet your pants. Both with fear and laughter."
More on DVD, Regions and HD
-We call is an Acoustic Tour DVD, but no one has said, "No, it won't be released on VHS." Although it's not looking good.
-The world is divided up into regions to combat DVD piracy, so that region 4 DVD's only play in region 4 (Australia) for example. Region 0 is all regions. This DVD is being released, for now, in Region 1, which is America and Canada, although a world-wide release is planned. Never fear if you want the DVD now, like so many of us! Multi-zone DVD players are availible, some brands and models can be tricked, and software for Playstation II's can be bought to temporarily change region (without chipping).
-The taping was recorded in HD, High Definition (with the cameras on the same cranes they use to film college football games in HD). It means the picture quality will be almost-perfect (imperfections will be undetectable with the human eye) and the audio will most likely be availible in surround sound, which can make for an awesome DVD experience with the right equipment, very comparable to a movie theatre. If you've just hooked a DVD player up to your parents' TV they bought when they got married, it's okay, the DVD will still play, you won't experience any technical difficulties.
Random Stuff You Might Want to Know
-Billy Corgan, formally of The Smashing Pumpkins and Zwan, was in the audience.
-Hanson busted the curfew set by HOB management big time! Due to the retakes and craziness backstage, two songs were dropped from the setlist -- a cover of 'Sympathy for the Devil', and an acoustic rendition of 'Snowed In''s 'Everybody Knows the Claus'. Rock 'n' roll!
-The Hanson-mobile, including the trailer, was towed by HOB staff. Bit of a 'The Road to Albertane' moment.
