Cobden Club - Acoustic Concert - Debuting new songs!
Katie Skilling performed on tuesday the 1st of June at the Cobden Club,London, accompanied by composer/guitarist Paul Gibbs. The atmosphere and audience at the private Club was commented on as being the quietest that it has ever been. The venue was full. People sitting and standing had their attentions completely captured by the set that was performed. The venue is known for its 'net working' between music industry folk and is the place to be if you want to meet some of the top people but this evening everyone stood quietly, captured by the stories that the songs told. Katie performed the set acoustically whilst other bands performed their sets with a full set up. It was a chance to get some of her new songs out in the open that she has been working on with producer Stephen Lironi (Bon Jovi/Hanson/Space/Black Grape etc) and actress/singer Clare Grogan (from the 80s band Altered Images and film Gregorys Girl).
Overall this was definetly a gig that none of you should have missed out on and hopefully soon there will be many more performances like this for you to look forward to. Make sure also to check out the newest issue of NME magazine for Katies name alongside our other local star - Laura Musgrave!
