I can't believe today was my last day in NYC! We started it earlier than normal because we had so much we wanted to fit in. After the NBC Studios Tour and Central Park, we went back to Times Square and had an early supper at TGI Fridays. Then we had to say goodbye to Times Square and take our last subway ride of the trip :( We went back to the hotel to get ready for the show and then off we went. Since we have stood on the floor for all the first 4 shows, and we are dead tired, we opted for the seats in the back for tonight. Tonight was the premiere performance of Hanson's upcoming album "Shout it Out" (which, as you can guess, is album #5). It felt really awkward hearing Hanson songs for the first time at a show, and not being able to sing along because you'd never heard it before. It was an interesting experience to sit (or stand/dance) and listen. I have to say, the night was basically epic. They had a 5-piece horn section on stage with them which added a lot to the performance. The album is fun and upbeat and full of life. After being there all week, it has almost started to feel like one big party instead of a concert. I know I say this every night I blog but I am SO HAPPY I got to be a part of this!! At the end of the show they decided that wasn't enough, and broke into 3 covers: Never Been to Spain, Shake a Tail Feather, and Gimme Some Lovin. My 13 year old self freaked out a bit at the last two. Then they had to redo 3 of the album songs because of mistakes made the first time around. So basically we got a whole Hanson concert time-wise, almost 2 hours! They also got us all to sing Happy Birthday to their Mom. Some sweet. And uh.... that's all I can remember. My feet are burning from all the dancing but we definitely had a blast!!! |

So here ends my 5 days in New York. Trip isn't quite over yet though... tomorrow is Bamboozle! It'd be awesome if I could randomly run into Zac and get my pic with him since I never managed to on Monday. I heard he just came outside at the Gramercy a little while ago but I am in my PJ's and tired and my voice is gone. Sorry Zac, I love ya, but I just want to sleep right now.
