Jennifer Chadd, a Kansas, mid-western native grew up singing. Her mom claims that she was singing before she could talk. Little did anyone know that one day, she’d grow up to be such an amazing singer/songwriter. Jen started writing and playing guitar seriously in August of 2001. In those early beginnings came “Walk Away” (the very first song she wrote), “Falling,” and “Hold On.”

Since then, the Kansas State Landscape Architect major has written many other songs. However, those first three have been the only ones she’s had the opportunity to lay down in a professional recording studio. Some call her music folk, other’s say it’s pop, but it doesn’t really matter what you call it. It’s just great music.

Jen’s musical tastes are very broad reaching all the way from Incubus and The Strokes, to Hanson and Michelle Branch. But if you ask her what her life inspirations are she’ll say this, “Life in general is my inspiration in most cases; just living and experiencing different emotions. But growing up I listened to a lot of Celine Dion, she is an amazing vocalist. And Hanson . . . laugh as some may, but they have been a tremendous inspiration. Anyone who could do what they did at that age . . . you can’t argue their talent. Also people like Jewel and a recent inspiration is Michelle Branch.”

It is still undetermined where the music will lead Jennifer Chadd, but it’s undeniable that the talent is definitely there. With the current sad state the music industry is in right now, Jen Chadd is definitely just what they need to show the world that real music still exists!
