My Hanson.Net Experience

I ask everyone to read here if they're considering whether
or not to join Hanson.net. As a new member, I've found I enjoy
being a part of the community. Since the first day, I was given a warm
welcome. Many people recognized me as being new immediately. That
gave me a sense of things being very close-knit.

If you're a fan of Hanson, then you'll appreciate being able to
communicate with other fans. Since they're fellow subscribers,
there is a deeper sense of appreciation for the group. That's not
saying that subscribers are the only ones who care that deeply,
it's simply saying that Hnet gives a place to avoid almost all of
the negative reaction of non-fans. The feelings and level of
appreciation still vary, so not everyone's going to agree on some
points. The one thing that brings it all together is that we all like
Hanson.

Some features you can expect to find on Hanson.net: message boards,
chat, messages from Hanson (From Us To You), an entire Real Media
catalogue of videos, and lots of "in the studio" pictures and videos.
Many bonuses to that are what other members contribute in their posts,
member montages, and web pages.

Granted, it's not perfect, but it would be hard for anyone to do that.
For one thing, I don't feel as negatively about the subscription costs,
as I've had experience around sites that use a lot of bandwith. I
couldn't exactly afford to join either, so it took some time to become
a member. Unfortunately, in this day and age of the net, the best way to
keep things running is to go with a subscription site to cover the costs
of large downloads and heavy visitor traffic. Banner ads only serve to
annoy and donations might not be able to sustain the amount of users.

Pros:
Sense of community.
Your own webpage (lookie, like me here! ;)
Lots of downloads.
All ages can enjoy.

Cons:
More expensive than snail mail Fan Clubs.
Erratic update schedule.
Occasional slowdown.
